I wouldn’t say I am artistic.. but I would say.. “I enjoy trying”
I can’t draw with a pencil, I would love to be able to, but I have fat fingers that get in the way. At college I was forced into taking Life Drawing classes and it was demanded that we sit there for two hours twice a week gripping Charcoal and draw a naked woman. After a while I ended up focusing on one part of her anatomy a session. I found focusing down to a semi macro level helped me not get overwhelmed. Why am I telling you this.. it has very little baring in the stuff I do now … or does it.
From those classes I learnt how to focus on detail. I didn’t use it much for a few years and I haven’t felt the urge to get any charcoal out since. But I can see the little details that some would miss. I am not saying that I am an expert… I am so far from being an expert I would need to use Google Earth to track it [expert] down. I just see small things in big pictures.
I would say that I am an amateur iPhoneographer. I use my iPhone to take pictures more than I use it to make phone calls. My phone goes everywhere I go (with one or two exceptions). I am not a purist, I use other NON iPhone based tools to create the image I want. I will try and get the results I want from the apps I have on the phone, but if I can’t get the detail I want through just using the small screen then I am not worried about opening it up in Photoshop or the desktop version of Snapseed.
I will try and include which tools I use in each image within the post so you get a good idea of how I got the effect I ended up with.
Thanks for reading this little intro. Onwards and Upwards.

Nice blog Paul!
