Memo For 06
In 2005 a lot went wrong. I messed up a lot health-wise and financially We could have been better off. I guess everyone can say that they made mistakes in the past year, but how many people can look back and make positive choices on how to improve the following year by learning from the problems of the last.
Well this year I am setting out my stall and telling the world what the plan is for the following 12 moths.
I have 3 main goals for the next year:
1. To Lose Weight – Everyone says they need to loose a few pounds in the new year. But I need to loose around half my body weight to get back to a healthy size. 2006 is going to be the year where that starts to become a reality. My lifestyle will change. I gotta stop indulging on take away and snack food. The medications I am on don’t help the case but more of that in a bit. I am going to find a form of exercise that is easily doable FOR ME and something that I could enjoy. Whether that means joining a gym or buying a second hand bike and going out riding for an hour a day, I don’t know yet, but that has to, to go along with the new regime.
2. To Quit Smoking – At 31 I have had enough of smoking. I would have quit well before now, but with Bi Polar being such a big issue last year I didn’t want to throw some other non essential added stress on me by trying to quit smoking. But 2006 will see me smoke free I am determined in this.
3. To get off the Mental Health drugs. I want to be clear headed again. I want to stop feeling hungry 30 minutes after taking my pills. I want to be able to have a drink when I feel like it and not be worried about slipping back into a mental funk that leads me to a major depressive state.
I want to have the ability to be able to control my mood and my actions without a cocktail of drugs that keep me standing up and functioning like a normal rational human being.
All three of the above are positive moves toward a better life for me. Of course there are other resolutions that I always make, save more money spend less time on the computer, watch more movies and write more. All of which will be done and broken by the end of January and be started over and over again throughout the year.
I will keep this here as a reminder throughout the year that I do have goals.
Happy New Year. May all your wishes and dreams come true.
