Tryptych

I was surfing around today looking for inspiration and came across a site PhotoJoJo. It is more of a general photography site than a phoneography site. They do have a spin off Tumblr site dedicated to phoneography – WeLovePhoneography. The neat thing about the Tumblr site is that it is not one phone centric. It caters for Android as well as iPhone. I always think that it’s good to see what other handsets can do.. it often leads to ideas of seeing if I can do it on the iPhone.

Anyway, getting back to my point. The inspiration struck when I saw an article about the app Diptic. Whilst I like the look of Diptic, I didn’t want to spend out for another app when I had one that already did this. Maybe in the future I’ll branch out and try another but I played around with Frametastic. It does what you need and it’s free (there is an in app purchase for an additional 18 frames, but the scope with the ones you get for free will get you started)

I quickly put together a Triptych frame using some of the Lava Lamp images I have featured her this week and played around with the in app effects to modify the images a little.

A Frametastic Tryptych

Sorry for the ever expanding Lava pics.

Distorted Lava

I really really like the Lava pictures I took. There is something about them that is just…. out there.

This is one I took with Camera+. Yes it is distorted to crazy proportions. This is because I shot it with Max Zoom and really close up. I knew the image would turn out pixilated and crazy… I achieved my goal, I think.

I added a boarder using Pixlr-O-Matic (desktop version.)

What a Lava-ly Mess I Made

Lava Dali

I was sat on the edge of my bed last night trying to find a radio station that didn’t suck and I had my lava lamp on. I looked over and realised that the wax in the lamp had already started de-solidifying. I whipped out Hipstamatic and set up the Dali Pak and this is what came back when I looked at the prints this morning.

I love the Dali Pak. It reminds me that not everything that I perceive as messed up is genuinely messed up.. it’s all in HOW you look at the end result.

Tendrils Of Lava

Late one night or possibly even early morning, I woke up with a start and couldn’t get back to sleep. So I got my phone out and started playing around. As I had fallen asleep with my bedside lamp on it was making some rather strange shapes. Here is one I caught.

This is done with Hipstamatic – Roboto Glitter lens, Kodot XGrizzled film.

Midnight Lava Flow

Strange shapes.. kinda like what goes on inside my head at 2am
